A downloadable list of websites taking playlist submissions

(Note: ensure that music you submit is appropriate for the playlists you are submitting to, submission should also be free – please let us know if you are asked for payment).

BIRP (USA based): is a monthly compilation of +100 tracks that are free to stream / download.   They’re also available on a number of other services like Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Music, YouTube, Deezer, etc. In addition to the monthly playlist, BIRP runs an in-site blog devoted to new music as well as acting as a hub for a growing community of people that love to share and talk about music.

Indiemono: One of the largest independent playlist curators on Spotify, although they feature on other streaming services.  Submission is free, however, they do not give feedback because of the large number of tracks they receive. They have many  playlists covering all the genres, so ensure you browse and listen to them to make sure you have selected the right one for your music.

Richer Unsigned: Not for profit and specifically designed to support emerging artists, Richer Unsigned was set up by Richer Sounds ( a retailer owned by its employees). Music can be submitted for their playlists, to get promotion on thier website, streaming services and in their stores. (If submitting music it is a good idea to check out the FAQs on the ‘About us’ page first).

The Alternative Mixtapes:  A music blog recommending songs and curating playlists for the following genres: Alternative Rock, Indie/Folk Rock, Punk-Rock, Indie Pop, Chill-Out, Electronic and Relaxing music.

WorkHardPlaylistHard (WHPH): The WHPH web site focuses on music streaming and helping independent artists. The site also has links to a growing number of independent playlists that artists can submit music to for free.
